Understanding the self-funder journey to living in a care home – March 2025
Surrey County Council commissioned Healthwatch Surrey to extend their research among self-funders, care arrangers and carers to understand more about behaviours, motivations and attitudes in planning for care. This phase focused specifically on understanding how people became care home residents.

This report brings together experiences shared with us by people who have proactively contacted our Helpdesk, who we have spoken to at community engagement events, input from local Citizen’s Advice, as well as drawing on reports and projects from within our Luminus team.

What We’re Hearing about East Surrey – September 2024
This report provides insights into local people’s views on, and experiences with, health and social care services in East Surrey. It is based on what people have told us at a series of engagement events in the area, as well as enquiries to our Helpdesk, between March and July 2024.

Our latest Insight bulletin highlights the key themes we’ve been hearing about recently, as well as providing information about how we share our insight and our future events. This report highlights our findings regarding the information people might require when considering self funding future care.

Quarterly impact report – Quarter 4 (January to March 2024)
This report highlights our major impacts throughout our fourth quarter of 2023/24 (January to March 2024). Our work has included empowering communities to access services online, co-producing advice leaflets to improve people’s knowledge of primary care services, sharing Surrey residents’ experiences of dementia services on a national stage and working in partnership to make services more inclusive through the Accessible Information Standard.
