Healthwatch Surrey guidance on involving people in Patient Safety Incident Response Plans


We received a number of requests from organisations to get involved with developing their Patient Safety Incident Response Plans (PSIRP). We have created this guidance to share the Healthwatch Surrey perspective to help all organisations develop Patient Safety Incident Response Plans that enable a positive culture of listening and involvement following a safety incident.

This guidance was created following First Community initially getting in touch with us and finding our feedback useful. As a result we produced this guidance document that has been shared with Surrey Heartlands to send out to relevant organisations.

First Community received valuable feedback from Healthwatch Surrey on our Patient Safety Improvement Plan. The feedback has helped First Community consider how to elevate the public voice throughout the plan and extend the work around health inequalities and patient safety. We are grateful to Healthwatch for their curiosity and challenge to help us move forward.
