This #MensHealthWeek – please share your experiences

11th June 2024

Between 10 – 16 June we’ll be joining with others across the country to highlight #MensHealthWeek.

The focus of this year’s campaign is encouraging men to talk and share their stories, a focus very much aligned with our own.

On the day after King Charles announced that he had a problem with an enlarged prostate, there were 16,410 visits to the relevant National Health Service website page, compared with 1,414 visits the previous day. Prostate Cancer UK saw an almost doubling in the number of users of its online risk checker (Men’s Health Forum).

We passionately believe that listening and responding to the experiences people share with us is vital to create health and social care services that meet the needs of Surrey residents. We also have a Helpdesk providing information and signposting for Surrey residents regarding health and social care services.

Since the start of the year we’ve heard from over 850 Surrey residents, either via our Helpdesk or out on engagement in the community. Of those happy to disclose information about their sex, only 222, or 25%, identified as male. We’d love to try and redress that balance, so get in touch with us today!
