Giving Carers a Voice
We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded the new independent Giving Carers a Voice contract by Surrey County Council. This contract will enable us to engage with more carers, encouraging them to share their stories and experiences with us and to involve carers with designing, developing, shaping, evaluating, and monitoring services, to help ensure people are supported in their vital caring roles. The focus of this work will be with unpaid carers aged 18 and over who provide support to relatives, friends and neighbours in their own homes or in the community.
We will also be working more closely with community groups who support carers and hosting specific engagement events for carers in the future.
Do you provide unpaid care or support to a relative, friend or neighbour?
Are you getting the support you need to carry on caring?
Would you like to add your voice to help improve services and support for carers in Surrey?
If you provide unpaid help or support to anyone who couldn’t manage without that help, then you are a carer and we would like to hear from you.
Please contact us to share your experiences of local services with us. This might be:
- getting a Carer’s Assessment through your GP
- being told about local services when you rang the local council for support
- having services provided to help you and the person you support.
You might also want to tell us about problems you have had getting any support at all.
We want to hear it all, both the good and the bad.
We will also be working more closely with community groups who support carers and hosting specific engagement events for carers in the future. We will give details about these events on this page soon.
