The INSPIRE Study: Understanding the forms of support that unpaid carers need if they are caring for older people living with multiple long-term conditions
24th November 2023
The University of Surrey are undertaking some research to better understand the information that is most helpful and supportive for unpaid carers who are caring for older people living with multiple long-term conditions.
This project has the following aims:
- To understand what information unpaid carers need to best be supported in their caring, what their views are for two prototype resources.
- To co-design a prototype resource for supporting unpaid carers for older people living with multiple long-term conditions.
The participate in the study you must meet the following criteria:
- You must be an unpaid carer whose current age is between 40-60 years.
- You are an unpaid carer for a parent or someone who occupied an equivalent role (e.g. parent-in-law or guardian) who is aged above 65 years and who is or was living with two or more long-term health conditions*
- You are providing unpaid care on a regular basis, on average at least once a week with in-person delivery of care. There is no exclusion based on the type of unpaid care being given.
If you meet the above criteria and would like to speak to a member of their research team and other unpaid carers, please contact Richard Green richard.green@surrey.ac.uk.
