Hillside Residential Care Home
Under delegated authority a decision has been taken to consult with residents, their families, carers, staff and stakeholders regarding future care provision at Hillside Residential Care Home in Camberley.
Surrey County Council is registered with the Care Quality Commission to provide the service at Hillside. The Consultation will start on 9 October 2017 and run for three months, closing on 9 January 2018. The Consultation is being managed through the Service Delivery Management Team and feedback and next steps will be considered by Adults Leadership team and Cabinet of Surrey County Council early in 2018.
The decision to consult on the future of care provision at Hillside is because:
- Hillside was built in the 1970’s, and the building is not, in our view, suited to providing a modern care service for people with learning disabilities
- Local commissioners have confirmed that Hillside is not a service that they will continue to commission care from. There have been no new long term admissions for some time.
- The constraints of the building increase the risks that the needs of people with increasing health and social care will not be met
If you have a questions or queries please do not hesitate to contact servicedelivery.info@surreycc.gov.uk or the Service Delivery Management Team telephone number on 01372 832257.
