Our health matters
We have been working with Surrey Youth Focus to find out about what young people across Surrey think about the NHS. More than 220 people between the ages of 11 – 25 took part in an online survey and 2 focus groups. We have now released a report into the findings.
There was clear evidence that the top health concern was around mental health and the issues that can arise from bullying.
These top 4 issues were:
- Depression
- Self-Image
- Self-Harming
- Exam Pressure
Many people that took part in the project felt that Health & Education could do more to collaborate in tackling these issues.
Some of the suggestions included:
- All schools should adopt a zero-tolerance policy to bullying
- Those who have overcome bullying to be role models for others
- Interactive programmes on Mental Health
