What would ask your pharmacist?
Pharmacists are an important part of the local NHS team here in Surrey. The highly skilled pharmacy teams are well equipped to provide a more convenient way to access healthcare, including support with healthy eating; exercise; stopping smoking; monitoring blood pressure; contraception; flu and covid vaccinations.
Did you know that pharmacists can also now provide clinical care for 7 common conditions, including shingles and sore throat, negating the need to make a GP appointment? There’s more information on this Pharmacy First service on the Surrey Heartlands website.
Earlier this year we spoke to over 400 people here in Surrey about the impact of local pharmacy closures. Our survey found that residents really value the service and clinical expertise which their local pharmacy can provide – they are often the most visible and accessible part of the health system.
That’s why we’re delighted to be supporting the Pharmacy Association’s Ask Your Pharmacist Week 2024.
What do you think about your local pharmacy? What’s good (and what’s bad) about the service they provide? We’d love to hear from you.
