Surrey County Council 2025/2026 budget consultation – closes Monday 30 September 2024
Surrey County Council (SCC) is currently seeking feedback from residents on how the council uses its financial resources.
Each year, the council is required to balance its budget so that spending does not exceed income from council tax, grants and other sources. Most of the council’s budget is spent on looking after those people who need us most, through Adults Social Care and Children’s services. A significant portion is allocated to keeping people safe and preventing or responding to serious incidents, particularly across Surrey Fire & Rescue Service, Trading Standards, and environmental services.
These views will help inform the draft budget for the 2025/26 financial year, which will be considered by the council’s Cabinet in November 2024. If the draft is agreed, the council will consult further over the winter on proposals for balancing the budget in 2025/26.
Please share your views in the budget consultation survey. Easy read and large print versions are also available. Responses are anonymous and the survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete. The consultation closes on Monday 30 September 2024.
