New volunteer Katie explains why she volunteers

I volunteer with Healthwatch Surrey because I am interested in learning about the health needs of my local community. As a volunteer I am able to take part in a variety of Healthwatch Surrey initiatives which tackle a broad spectrum of societal issues. I enjoy dedicating my time as it enables me to meet new people, expand my network, and improve my social skills – as you’re talking to people from many different backgrounds. I speak to them about their experiences within the healthcare system and feed that back to Healthwatch Surrey. Gathering this feedback is essential and can really help to improve the wellbeing of my local community.
