Dentistry – submission of evidence
Thank you to everyone who has contacted us regarding their experiences of NHS dentistry. Your experiences enabled us to be one of over 30 local Healthwatch who submitted evidence to the parliamentary inquiry on NHS dentistry. This was mentioned on BBC radio 4’s news programme on Tuesday by Conservative MP Steve Brine who’s been reviewing the evidence as chair of the Health and Social Care Committee for its upcoming dentistry evidence sessions.
“We’ve had hundreds of pieces of written evidence from trade bodies, professionals, charities, people working in the profession. But quite a lot of it has been from local Healthwatch and from patients themselves, telling some pretty painful stories of…DIY dentistry…home tooth extractions, people tying shoelaces to teeth…”
Please do continue to contact us regarding your experiences of health and social care, including NHS dentistry.
